Chinese New Year Festival
Shanghai snacks, a community stall and the Chinese New Year parade brought our community together in Brisbane.

Queensland Shanghai Metropolitan Association took part in Brisbane’s Chinese New Year parade and ran a stall at the Chinese New Year festival for the first time. The association invited 蛋蛋大妈 to present Shanghai-style treats, including tiaotougao rice cakes, qingtuan rice balls, fresh pork mooncakes and sweet fermented-rice dumplings. The snacks proved popular with visitors, and supplies were replenished several times throughout the day. Volunteers and community members shared the flavours of Shanghai and joined the festive celebrations.
